managers

As a manager you can ensure that staff are trained and motivated to be inclusive about supporting young people's personal care requirements.

Requirements for inclusion

Disabled young people have requirements for inclusion. That is, there are factors within your control which determine the extent to which Disabled young people can be included. It is vital that managers learn what these requirements are and take whatever steps are possible and reasonable to meet them. It is not a matter of charity, it is a basic right.

It is helpful to make recording Disabled young people's requirements for inclusion a matter of organisational policy. If the service you manage is small, you should record the specific requirements of every service user and adjust your service accordingly. If you manage a large service, you should gather a wide enough sample of requirements to be confident that the service you provide accommodates them.
